Certified quality
The Certified Quality mark was created by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Andalusian Government for the promotion of agri-food and fishery products with differentiated quality and guarantee of their production under specific controls. The consumer gets the guarantee that the product attached to this label has been produced and / or elaborated under specific controls at the same time that the product is identified for its differentiated quality, endorsed by the Andalusian Government.

Certified Quality is the hallmark with which the Andalusian Government recognizes products with differentiated quality that are produced or elaborated under specific quality controls.
Protected Designation of Origin
Protected Designations of Origin (P.D.O.) constitutes the system used in Spain for the recognition of a differentiated quality, as a consequence of its own and differential characteristics, due to the geographical environment in which the raw materials are produced, the products are made, and the influence of the human factor that participates in them.

A P.D.O. is a rating granted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment that legally protects the food produced in a certain geographic area.
The producer who receives a P.D.O. agrees to follow the defined standards to maintain quality at high standards.
In addition, there must be a public body that regulates and monitors compliance with the regulations. And in the case of Spanish P.D.O.s, they are protected by European regulations.

The Protected Designation of Origin for Olive Oil from the Sierra Mágina protects the olive grove that extends over 61,000 hectares in the Sierra Mágina region, being the largest denomination of origin in extension of those registered in the European Union.

The Regulatory Council of the DO Sierra Mágina obtained its first provisional recognition by the Andalusian Government, in November 1995, and was subsequently ratified by the Ministry of Agriculture in 1997 and by the European Union in 1999. In 2004 a modification was approved of its Regulation, with an extension of the protected territory among other aspects, which was registered by the European Union in 2007.
